This month two of the CADRE working groups started discussion on the conceptual and technical dimensions of the Five Safes model.
The Content Working Group is breaking down each of the Five Safes and understanding how that framework operates for researchers working with quantitative and qualitative data that is understood as sensitive. Starting with the idea of a “Safe Person” there are questions like:
What does identifying a person involve?
How can the safety of a person be judged?
The Technical Working Group is breaking down the technical components that enable the information exchange. Starting with the idea of a “Safe Person” – to develop an information model there are questions like:
What information can be gathered to identify a person?
How can that information assist with making a judgement about their safeness?
